This is a special drop-in feature to improve the safety of a gas cooker used by someone with impaired sight. The OEM design can allow pans to tilt and spill, so these overcome the problem, without restricting the flames and don’t need any skill to fit.

Some things are harder to model in software than they are to make in the real world. This is a case in point. This is a non-linear helical cut that has to meet some very specific requirements. With a little tweaking (now done), this is soon to become a production item.
